Karla, I REALLY like this layout (and your fabric choices!) on this Irish Chain. One of our charity quilt makers made one (non-charity quilt) using this pattern, but each 'circle' was a different color group of fabrics (purple circle, blue circle, red circle, etc) . Even unquilted, it was one of the most popular tops in our little annual quilt show.

Wow, Karla, that is going to be beautiful! I LOVE those fabrics!

As for layouts, there was a link on here a while ago from pittsburg Pam with some unusual log cabing layouts, hang on, I think I saved it...

Kx--thanks for that link. :D I love some of those lay outs. Thankfully, I do have several log cabin books with designs... but the tricky part is my squares are tiny compared to those, (2.5" strips vs. 1-1.5" ones) and mine end with lights--and most end with darks. It changes the design some. I think my Judy Martin book has a ton more options than the E Burns log cabin in a day one... I'll have to dig it out soon.

Last night I worked on the Black and White Splash... too many projects! Nah.

You worked on the black and white splash? I'm sure there is an update, yes?

Oh--not quite big enough to share, Terri--but it's pretty cool. It was amazing how things fit together. I'm very excited about it...

It's rare I get so much quilting time on a school day... what a treat!!

Off to the barn--there's snow out there with 20-30 mph winds:shock: ... but I have a doc's appt this morning, so I can dawdle a bit...

Ok, I'll wait until you have more and in the meantime, I drool a bit more over these blocks :)

    SNOW?? OH NO!!
Make sure the "kids" are warm!

Drive carefully and hope all goes well with doc. :)

I'm off topic ... but the horses are snuggled in their stalls with warm water, ample hay, and soft straw. It's a cozy place out there. I'll check them once more before I head to school--clean up and top off waters. Dad is coming at noon to peek too.... but no babies eminent--thank goodness. Let this cold pass first.

Terri--this doc appt is for my foot--not the other stuff.... :?
