I like it where it is but just a tad smaller like in portion to the other rows like the zebras, elephants, etc. Great quilt.

I like it the second way....with a little on the top and more on the bottom. Great quilt!

I agree, the bottom is heavy, put some @ the top and I think it would be great!!!!

YES! I do think it's better split this way between the top and bottom. Those stripes are really pretty cool - they sort of give the illusion of fringe like someone else said or maybe beading. Very nice quilt!!

Thanks for all the reactions. I think I"ll go with the 2nd picture. Baby won't be born before I'll be sending this off, and I won't know the name, so putting that on the quilt is not an option. (Besides, I'm not much into embroidery.) I'll play around with maybe another row of animals on the bottom ... I still have monkeys and parrots left from the original fabric.

Love your choice of fabrics and wonky log cabin. The border fabric could be used for either boy or girl. The fringe looking stripes add to the African jungle theme. I like the split stripes. Do you know what the name of the border fabric is? It would be great to have on hand.

I'd love it if the stripes were evenly split - it adds spice to the quilt. It feels bottom heavy to me with the uneven stripes. Love the quilt, though!

They are both nice, however... I looked at them both, went away for a while and came back. When I look at the second one, my eye is first drawn first to the elephants, then to the rest of the quilt. The first one, my eye is drawn first to the bottom, and then to the rest. That makes me like the second one better, because my eye sees first, all the hard work... Both are very nice though!
