Your quilt is so neat and tidy! Every seam looks just perfect -- you've inspired me - maybe I'll try a QAYG too!!

The QAYG sashing makes this quilt extra special. Look very balanced and orderly.

Very Beautiful, I made one years ago and it's the first quilt I ever actuall finished, everyone wants it but I refuse to let it go. To many good memories.

Great job . The black sets the blocks and makes the colours pop .

I can't find the tutorial but here goes:

BLOCKS: Cut the backing and batting the same size I started with 12 inch blocks. Add a horizontal strip- I used from 1.5 to 2.5 inches wide on all strips- lay it right side up, then put another strip on it right side down. Sew through all three layers. Press open, continue adding strips till you get near the corner, then add a triangle. Press and trim to size, my finished blocks were 10.5 inches.

SASHING: Front sashing is 1 inch wide, back sashing is 1 3/4 inches wide, pressed in half. Cut to block length. Put face down on block, pin, add back sashing cut to length - raw edge to the seam side- pin. 1/4 inch seam carefully being sure that all of your layers are lined up. Press the top out, add the next block to the top having blocks right side together. Now you have two blocks attached with a nice sashing between but the back is a flap. Press the back over, trim the seams a tiny bit if needed so they butt together but don't overlap. Hand stitch the flap down or machine stitch( but it will show on the front.) Make rows of blocks then put them together with a long strip, same process. This binding process can be found on Craftsy - Quilting Big Projects on a Small Machine.
