I have made a lot of the quilts by Joan Ford. She has a nice system of controlling scraps.

    Dina....
I love both quilts. Your colors are cheerful. I was searching for inspiration. I need to use my scraps. These gave me just the direction I am going to go. You did a great job. Bea

Bonnie was just blogging about her 2 1/2 inch scraps last night. She is sewing together four patches using them as leaders and enders with the plans of making them into a quilt soon. She said she usually makes 2 inch blocks, but the box of this size was full so she was going to start on them. I love her scrappy quilts.

Thanks, Bea!! I am glad I helped you find "direction." I actually liked each of these quilts enough that I made more.

TAke them to Goodwill and let someone else decide what to do with them! At least that is what I would have done until I saw the quiltdove's scrappy. That is spectacular! froggyintexas

I love scrappy quilts too and buy just about every book I see that features them. You can make any quilt block a scappy one just by using your scraps instead of using a limited variety of fabrics. The principle is the same. It's the placement of the lights and darks that make the pattern emerge. I, unfortunately, always end up buying more fabric for my scrappy quilts. Either I don't have enough darks, or maybe I'm just using flower fabrics and I need more flowers, or maybe I'm just feeding my addiction to buying fabric. So just don't worry and pick up those scissors and go to work!
