There is a blog (http://www.inventivedenim.com/). The blogger's name is Heather and she has a lot of info on sewing with denim. In fact, she has a link to her friend's site that has a denim quilt tute: http://www.pieceandquilt.com/2010/01...-tutorial.html.

I am going to bookmark it myself.

I used my son's jeans to make two "picnic" quilts...no batting...just jeans and flannel (raggy quilt)...they both are 80 X80 and the weigh a TON! BUt my grandkids love them to sit/lie on at ball games, etc.

Thank you all so much for your replies and links! So much knowledge here I love it. I just started cutting my circles this weekend... ended up being 6-1/4"... now I can't decide what size for the "window" I am bouncing between 4-1/2" and 4-1/4".. not much difference I know. It appears when I cut my circles I wasn't perfect.. they very close but maybe 1/16" on the plus side and 1/16" on the short side. I have a template for 4-1/2" so that would be easier, when I go to 4-1/4" I worry about getting the "window" material centered correctly......maybe I am just being to particular and 1/4" won't make a difference either way. Any thoughts?

I think some may say I cheated. I used a die cutter (AccuQuilt Studio) to cut out the circles. I don't think I would stick with the project if I had to cut all those squares by hand. I'm using 112 circles. Although, I did notice that they had a rag circle die for the AccuQuilt GO now too, that is designed for this quilt project. But I already had the 8.5" circle die.
Thank you for the reminder of the GO die!! I have this die also, and I've been wondering what to do with a rather large piece of denim I "inherited" from my grandmother's stash. I think I'll go drag that out, and add some of hubby's old jean's to give it different colors.
And no, that's not cheating!! If that was the case, then rotary cutters are cheating too!!
