I love your quilt. Not everyone remembers that the original quilters used whatever fabric they had. Some made beautiful quilts from new fabric, but a lot of ladies made the quilts from the tattered clothing that had been worn by the family. The object was to stay warm. Had yours been a full size quilt, I know it would have kept someone very warm.

I like your creativity and sticking to an unusual type of fabric. There are beautiful upholstery and curtain fabrics out there and I have been reluctant to use them. Now, thanks to you, I am rethinking those negative thoughts. I have used them for other things before, and usually cut a small piece off to see if they shrink or the colors run if I wash them in the washer, and surprise! Most ravel like crazy but are very washable.

    Thank you for the inspiration.

That is so unique! Anyone who was laughing was only jealous that THEY didn't think of it. You should be proud of your accomplishment. It is beautiful!

Very nice. Quilts were made of all kinds of scrap materials in the beginning, they weren't for shows but to keep warm and everything was used. I think you done a great job and remember there are no quilt police here.

I love it - you did a beautiful job. I'm so glad Pat Sloan helped you use the upholstery fabric.

I don't like snooty, snobby people! Some people are just plain rude. Kudos to you for persevering and coming up with a wonderful piece to show off. Gorgeous.

What a wonderful piece and so beautifully done. Shame on those people who laughed at you. Where is it written that quilts can be made only with 100% cotton?

Keep doing what you're doing. Most quilters I know would love to make something so beautiful.

Bet those "mean girls" are biting their tongues now. Good for you for sticking to it and creating such a beautiful piece.
When did we become people who would laugh at a newbie's attempts?
