Always buy more fabric than the pattern calls for, for those inadvertent wrong sized (too small) strips.

Stop sewing when you get tired or you will spend more time ripping it out.

a friend of mine and I are working on a "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" quilt. We didn't read all of the instructions before we started. So now we have a lot of diamonds 60 that we need to sew together some how to make the stars. We were supposed to sew 2 strips together and then cut out the diamonds. Lesson learned but, I would still like to make the quilt

Mrs Wiggs that is Great advice. I spend a lot of time ripping because I'm too cross eyed to sew

A 6" square ruler looks an awful lot like a 6.5" one of the same brand . Hide the wrong one .

Painful (to the ego) lesson: rulers make better straight lines than eyeballs.
