    I have found that when I run into this kind of problem, I have to decide if I can live with it like it is or --------------- start ripping. Usually I can live with it.

    I took the whole quilt apart even though no body would not know I didn't think I was going be happy till I made it the way I wanted it and it was hard but It was well worth it But it is up to you and how much time you have if it is a gift u might have a limited time and they want know what you was intending so they will love it either way.
