You quilters are so great for sharing your thoughts and ideas. I have gone back to the drawing board (fabric store!). A few of you mentioned the difficulty of matching up the border with the big print. I didn't want it to look messy and don't have enough of the big flower print to do it right, nor enough for the back. I have 1 yard left with only 3 repeats so have set that aside for something else. I'm going to audition some other fabric later this morning and ask you all again. Thank you so much for all the input! I learn so much from you all!

I think DH is the one who would be "freaked out" by the border. That made me laugh out loud.

I really like the border print, but I think the combination of the blocks, applique, and border are a bit much.

I like the floral too; but then I'm not keen on greens, so. . . Cute quilt.

I really like the floral border much better than the green. I think its adorable and matches perfectly.

I love the dark floral fabric - hope you can get more of it so that you can miter the borders. That way you won't have the matching difficulty. My daughter specifically asked for a black & white quilt for my newborn grand daughter as she had read that it helps the eye cones to develop.

I love the floral and the only place you can really see it well is in the border.

I think the clash here is between the sophistication of the floral border and the baby-ness of the appliques. If it were me, I'd get rid of the applique blocks and replace them with squares of the floral, and then border with the green... Then the baby would have a little blankie that would grow into childhood with her.

I agree that the floral put on the back would be wonderful!

That's it! I loved the print, but didn't quite like it with the rest of the quilt but didn't know why. It's appliques. I'd think I'd really like it without the appliques.
