I might buy two or three from a collection, but I really do enjoy picking out my own choices and will often just go around the store and mix and match.

I usually see something that jumps in my eye and then I look for materials that match with it. And I must confess, sometimes I use some of that materials for something totally different and then I need to replace it and most of the times it is with something totally different. That is the fun part!

I always start a quilt with a 'color' in mind, then start with my stash...I've only just purchased my first collection , after quilting for over 10 years... I am eagerly awaiting my Jinny Beyer Palette Super set! woohoo!

I love Jinny Beyer's fabrics, especially her border prints. Now if I only win the lottery, hee hee

there is nothing like tooting your own horn.!!!!! but, I have heard some person say oooohh I dont like scrap quilts, they are so ugly. Then she saw some of mine and went bananas over it, I told her shr wouldnt like it because it was from my scrap pile, she couldnt believe the color coordinated in it. She took the word scrap literally, which some of mine are like my postage stamp(that is what we old timers call the now popular around the world, my blocks are 1 1/2 sq. ) jolo

I agree. I have never bought a "collection" yet. Why in the world would you do that when you can shop around and make a unique quilt of your own.
