I ordered this pattern and have read through it once.

Have any of you made it yet?

You might want to practice on scraps first as the center of the big main star is kinda hard to get to place right. This the part I had trouble with & also making it lay flat.

This is a beautiful quilt. I first saw it years ago in Amish country. I had to have the pattern . I never could figure out the pattern. maybe now we can all help each through the steps. I keep looking at the pattern but just to intimidated by it to try.
i am going to get it out again . Will be asking lots of questions.

One of the first quilting books I bought through a craft book club was
Hand Quilt Without a Frame. It has the Star Spin pattern wallhanging to king size. It has very detailed instructions, about 10 pages. It's out of print but I found a picture of it.

bella

is it similar construction as a card trick block? when i looked at the center i thought it looked like an 8 card trick instead of a 4 card trick.

this would be a good pattern to do by foundation piecing that way everything would lay flat and it won't distort.

Love Clothilde! It's a good book, not very big more like a booklet. The price sure has changed from the one I bought. :D
