Love it! It could be just blocks of color... or maybe scrappy strips of left over from the front if you have enough and just add some. Good Luck

This is an adorable quilt, and one she'll love for years.

One thing, is this an applique quilt or did you buy the blocks
already made up?

I've been fascinated with shoes for a long time, and one of my
daughters pointed out it started when I broke my ankle and
could not wear shoes on that foot for a long time. I had a lot of
trouble finding shoes that were comfortable.....

Love, love, love it!! Congrats on the seam ripperless quilt top! (if it were me..I'd mark my calendar about that!) I struggle trying to line up things when I'm sandwiching quilts..but I'd use Holice's method if it were me. Sounded like good advice.

I bought the shoe fabric in a panel (bought 2 panels) and cut them apart and put sashing between the blocks. It didn't come out quite a big as I want it though so I am now working on doing a "piano key" border using colors that are in the shoes so it doesn't look like an add on. Will post pics when that's done.
