I LOVE it! I had a beetle (one of the new ones) for a few years....I miss it! Your quilt is just adorable!

I did a VW bug quilt several years ago. Started it in a class, but we added "occupants" to the cars and around them and such. And I decided that I didn't want just level roads so some of my Bugs go up or down hill. I made it for my husband who has had a VW bug every since I have known him.....still drives one. (And not a new one either....)
He is a writer and loves puns so all the blocks in the quilt I made for him are puns on the "bug" part. <G> For example, he writes Science Fiction/Science Fantasy so one block's car is made of gold Lamé fabric and it is in "space" with flying saucers and aliens and such. So it is a "Gold Bug". lots of others. I think I finally quit making blocks at 15. <G>

Fun quilt to make and see.
