I had to come up with a screenname for my POGO account a few years ago. I have dabbled in just about every craft that came down the pike for the last 30 years ( I blame my grandmother for teaching me to crochet and crossstitch at age 6 - jk). Apparently there was already another craftyone on POGO so I added my birthday on the end.

Mine came from a nickname my husband gave our cat several years ago-she has a look of a perpetual scowl on her face so hence my name - scowlkat! Our male cat became skabootykat so my dh uses that as his name on forums. I find it interesting when I sign up on different sites and am told to pick a different name because that one is already taken!

In Michigan every one says they are coming up north, My grandkids and DS live in Ohio and come Up North to visit, I couldn't think of anything fancy so came up with just "Up North".

Mine, which I thought was so easy it would already be taken, is often misunderstood in the chat room. Qbee is for "Quilting Bee" but many think it is for "Queen Bee". I chose the name because of my grandmother. Long story short, I had been looking for a hobby for a very long time and taken many classes (chinese painting, mosaic glass art, meditation, cake decorating, etc.)and then this past July I took my first quilting class. It is hard to explain but within the first 30 minutes of listening to the humming of the machines, I knew I had found my passion. I was immediately taken back to my qrandmother's quilting bees at her church. The ladies would chat and do the most beautiful quilting. My job was to keep threading needles :D Wonderful memories!
