That is correct...use more fabric for top and bottom because you lose inches after you stager each row that gets cut off to even it up.

Ihave done those in scenes too but I split them and made like two or three wall hangings from one scene like that. They are fun!

Sew Simple...Picture a scene, hard part is finding fabric...cut diff width's of each fabric in your scene using the full 45 inches...how wide is up to you and what your doing i.e. table topper, bed runner or lap quilt...Sew each together horizontal,in my boat scene, I sewed grass to rock wall, then added boats, then water and final sky...Once all sewn then I sq up and slice in diff widths in vertical rows anywhere from 2 1/2-6 1/2 wide, vary it....Then stager each row, sew back together ...WA LA...It's so simple and fast you can finish it up batting, backing and binding in a few hrs...quick and easy gift.
