    I was just watching the Featherweight video this morning and he explained about the slanted foot. He said Singer came out with the slanted foot because they believed it would make it easier for a seamstress to see what she was doing. It pulls the needle back and out of the way of the stitching line.

    I have the 401A and it sews like a dream. It will sew through things that my expensive machine will stall trying to stitch.

    You have a 404, slant needle, straight stitch only. You got lots of attachments and bobbin. Great machine! enjoy!

    I know nothing about the machine except I wouldn't mind finding it at a deal like that and if I am not mistaken, we found a box just like your pictures that has accessories. I will see if I can find it and take a picture of it and if there is anything in my box that is not in your box, I will gladly send it too you. It may take me a while, as I am still under home health due too a stroke/seziure combo in April and be up digging around for stuff but if my hubby hasn't moved it, I know about where it is. I just didn't know what machine all those things went with.
