Love it!! I understand why she framed it, she sees it as a work of art!! Do you have a pattern, it's the nicest butterfly pattern Ive seen to date

The pattern is in the book "Stack-n-Whackier" In the book it is a quilt and I adapted it to my wall hanging

    Ruth that is really pretty.

I know how much work those are, I did them too. But they sure are worth it. I always thought mine looked more like moths! LOL

No, no. I always thought it was the fabric I picked that did it. It is an amazing pattern, if I remember correctly, you use the back side of some of the pieces and I think that is what made mine look like moths. But I love it.

    I love your colors.

I really don't understand just what you are trying to convey. Your quilt is wonderful. And that your MIL framed it in a purple color looks great with the butterflies, over the couch. I would think she really likes it. So is there a problem? I would smile with pride! I have made many quilts for friends and I have never seen them since they were given. So what!
    peace :D

Okay I read your post again. The color your MIL used goes well with the dark background in your piece even though it doesn't match perfectly, It works together! I really like it.

I just love your butterfly wall quilt. How did you make this? What is Stack-N-Whack?

Yes, some of the fabrics are right side up and some are wrong side up. It is supposed to make the wings look like they have movement to them.
