    I go back the 16th and my kids (students) come on the 22nd. That is about a week later than we have gone back in the past, but it still really sneaks up on us. This year I spent the first month catching up with medical and dental checkups. It seemed like a waste of summer, but I let some slip last year and I promised DH I would get it all done this year, including the dreadeed colonoscopy!

    Anyway, I kow what you mean about your sewing slowing down. I'll be thinking about you! Even though I love teaching, there never seems to be enough time. :|

    I don't go back until the 22nd. I, too, am exhausted at the end of the day with 7th graders and don't get much quilting done. Or anything else for that matter.

    YIKES aug 1, and back to school...
    My kids don't go back til sept 8th.,.. but then we don't get out til the end of june.. and no air in our school..... i feel sorry for them...

    My DD sub-teaches in four area schools and she said "God chooses special people to be kindergarten teachers". She says they really keep you on your toes, but she loves to
    to be able to teach them every now and then.

    Here's for all teachers and para's - Have a wonderful school year, enjoy each child. You are sometimes the only person that child may have to lean on. May you have a blessed year!

    I know. I teach music in west Texas. Teachers go back next Tuesday and the kidlets start on the 22nd. Plus, I have a church organist job and will be starting another moonlighting teacher job when school starts. Am attempting to finish a quilt for my "baby" to take with her to Texas A & M in a couple weeks. Oy! I've got several quilts I want to make for Christmas presents - am thinking that may not happen this year!

    Why so early? I grew up in SD and we started the last week in Aug. so you could guarantee hot class rooms, but Aug. 1? Have fun and bless you for being a kindergarten teacher, it takes an angel to deal with them. My best friend teaches kindergarten, so I hear all about her kids.
