I like everything but the description; maybe TMI? It's great that you are supporting United Way.

I agree with JeannieT. If someone else quilted it I would also put their name on the label!

    My suggestion...(by ghostrider)
    Title: Simple Scraps
Size: XX" x XX" lap quilt
Desc: 100% cotton fabric, cotton thread
Machine pieced and quilted by Michael Holmes, your city, state
    August 2011
Design by The Missouri Star Quilt Company

That is the basic information that the owner would need to provide to an appraiser so why not make it easy for them.

This looks like an excellent choice to me.

I love Missouri Star Quilts, but I don't think the idea of the tube quilt was original with them. I would leave that out or say something like Based on an idea from MSQ.

I would even leave out the part that says "scraps from previous projects" that lessens the importance of an auction quilt, not to me but to the bidder.

    That's enough.

Those that know will know. Those that don't still won't, but at least they'll know it didn't come from the Pottery Barn. ;-)

I don't think you need to specify the method.

    I agree :)
    i also agree

There are a lot of very good answers here but one thing not mentioned much is the importance of the batting material used and washing instructions for the quilt. The recipiant needs this info. The thread used is not important unless you are entering a contest. I would like to see a post of your quilt.

Hand Made by machine?? It's sounds funny. How do you say the quilt was hand made, without making people think it was hand pieced and hand quilted? Both were done by machine.

As always, thanks for helping me out...:)

I believe the OP stated this information was not for a label, but was merely for the item info card for a silent auction. Care instructions would typically be provided to the winning bidder when s/he picked up the quilt after the auction.
