I tried this...without success. Does it matter which width of fabric you use?

It's lovely! Maybe a little more quilting on the red areas would make it lie more evenly flat.

This is really elegant...nice job!

I always use batting...I use the THINSULATE...usually on a bolt at walmart. It lies flat and quilts easy, even by hand!

I made one similar several years ago. I had batting in it and washed it the other day. Mistake number 1--did not pre-wash, the back shrunk more than the front. Mistake number 2--did not quilt, batting scrunched up in places. Had to stretch as I ironed to get it looking half way decent. Mom is going to get it for her scrappy quilts.
