It wasn't difficult at all, you get lots of instruction with the ruler and it is easy to understand. Just follow the instructions and that's it.

The ruler was easy to use and it came with easy to understand instructions. I am so happy that I bought it.
The full name of the ruler is 'Deb Tucker's Rapid Fire Hunter Star Ruler, Petite Star'
The ruler itself comes in two sizes, Petite, and Large. I bought the petite and the largest star you can make with it is 16". That is plenty big enough for me.
The Large size makes up to a 20" block if I am not mistaken but I thought that would be too big for any quilt I would be making. This size would be nice for a table topper though, maybe in Christmas fabrics.
Thank you to everyone for looking and thank you for your kind comments and encouragement.

Beautiful work. This is one of my favorite blocks. It makes both a wonderful wall hanging or a super quilt. Please let us see your finished idea.

That is a beautiful block. A quilt with just that block would be beautiful!

There is a pp piecing pattern on Quilters Catche. I believe that not using the pp would be harder. I used the pp when I made this pattern block and it made it go fast. Lovely block, BrendaK

I have had this ruler for a couple of years and your beautiful block has inspired me to use it...soon! Thanks for letting us know how easy the ruler made the whole process!
