GGal your block came up and "Oooh" was my initial reaction and then I read the posts and they all have the same reaction--The aqua draws you into the center and then bursts (a perfect word for it) out to the corners. Fantastic.
Like you I try to trim to sizes as I go. In the long run it saves time.

Glad that i'm no different ... I saw that burst in GGal's block too!
    Beautiful!

And what an array of American patriotism and some familiar fabrics showing up again!!

?Sub? a different block for New York...many of us are when we want too...that carries your blues that you like. I love them; I love mirabelle's roses. I am glad you are back with us, GrannyQ.

This one is darlin'. I love the simplicity o' this block. It'll probably be one o' the first blocks I do when I start back makin' 'em.
I'm still campaignin' ta git ya ta join the swap. It'd be so neat ta have another block from Iowa.

Your blocks are wonderful as always. I did North Star, y seams and all. I made sure there were no stitches in the seam allowances and took my time and I am really pleased with 3 out of the 4 seams. #4 is fine, too.
The fabric is my batty batik. I was originally thinking of using it for sashings and/or borders or backing but I wasn't as crazy about the fabric once I saw it in person. I must say, it really shines in this block. That tells me I like it better in small doses.

W4Me ... Batty Batik, so perfect for your quilt .... and another fine block, for your collection!
Maybe not for this quilt in large quantities .... but I still see it as a nice en masse fabric that would work wonderfully in a different quilt pattern!
