Your quilts are amazing. We've done some barn quilt trails. This inspires me to get my pictures out and try to make some blocks from them. Great work.

All of your quilts are beautiful! The barn quilt is so colorful and cheerful, and the Dresden blocks are so pretty and unique, but the third one is SO appealing to me, in another life, it was probably mine! Great job!

My favorite is the Cherry applique. ...because my last name is Cherry. Please keep us posted on the outcome.
I thought of Jar covers when I saw the round shape of the cherry applique with scalloped edges.
Did you use large ric-rac to create the scallop edges ? Thanks for sharing your works of heart.
Great minds think alike! Ricrac was my first thought but I'm to cheap. I wanted to work from my stash. so I had to make a template.

Hope these pictures help with how I made the block. The Dresden blades were made from a charm pack. Each charm was cut into (4) 2.5 squares. and then I used a the ruler shown to cut the blades. The picture shows a 2.5 strip but the concept is the same. The circle for the center is about 8.5, depending on your 1/4 seam it could be smaller or larger. Just measure and make that size. for the scallops I measured the finished with of the blade a made a template with a half circle . I used the freezer paper method. The cherries are made with perfect circle templates, you can google them. the leaves were hand drawn for a template and the stems are 1/4 finished bias binding strips made with pressing bars that can be google and purchased. and the gingham around the circle is 1/2 finished bias binding made with the pressing bars also. I'm going to try to get together a free pattern to put on my blog for those interested it should take me a week or two. Tons of applique work!
