Helen, I had made a table runner a couple of years ago that used a 12" star block. That pattern had me fussy cut the center square of the star. I'm sure you could find a free star block pattern on line, if you don't have one already. I wasn't sure what to do with the nativity fabric and decided to use the star blocks with adding borders. It was simple & easy.

Thank you Debbie. I love fussy-cutting fabric as I have lots of large prints. I love them! Thank you for the helpful information. I will give it a shot!
