    There is some guidance on the size to cut the rectangles in the tutorials on Post #47. Some of it is trial and error. Bonnie Hunter tells how she would change the size the next time and why.

    A note in the second tutorial says: "My 9 patch blocks are 6.5 inches unfinished. If your 9 patches are a different size, take the unfinished block size and add 5.5 inches to get the length needed for the rectangles to twist the blocks. My rectangles were cut 3.5 inches by 12 inches."
