I am so pleased to have family that ask and appreciate quilts. Maybe one day she will appreciate your beautiful gift. Do not take offense, we are all not made alike.

What I meant to say because I made a mistake...five months later and she still has NOT hung it up. I may just ask for it back. Hmmm

I think you are right. She is very un-appreciative. But I always hope that somewhere deep down inside..she may just see the trouble I went thru just for her. She is 44 yrs. Probably not going to change. She wasn't even sure where it was the last time I stopped in. I just get hurt too easily. End of story.

It wasn't my idea; my mom had seen one in a magazine and had asked if I would me one like that if she provided the hankies? I said sure, but there was NO timeline, so I planned it for her 90th birthday. On her birthday when I surprised her with it, she said "OH!" And that was it. Didn't say she loved it, didn't say 'oh it's nice', nothing, and I didn't get the feeling that she was speechless, it was just ---- nothing. Months and months after the fact she has expressed gratitude---- a little bit. So I understand how you feel. Your quilt is lovely, you did a perfect job on it!
What an interesting story, Terricat. The very first quilt I ever made was made with cats. When I finished it I almost killed myself trying to get to my Mom's to give it to her. Her response, "I don't want a quilt. I'm happy with what I have." Well...as you can imagine a conversation went on. After quite some time later...when I was there I went in and sure enough..it was folded up and on a chair. I quickly put it on the bed. The next time I was over..again..it was on the chair. By this time ...Mom had developed Alzheimer's...so when she went into another room..I ran in and grabbed it and ran it out to my car. She never, ever missed it . The up shot of this story is one month later ...my house burnt to the ground and I lost EVERYTHING. Not a good story. Just ironic.

No...you are right. I chose not to curl the edges...because that is tedious and drives me nuts.

I'm intrigued...what are they into...something that their OWN children will dislike when they get older???
