Thanks all! Yes, it's getting closer and I'm very excited!
Just bought my "rainforest" gear at a second hand store - hard to find "summer" clothes in December in Ottawa!
Had my immunizations done last weekend - YIKES - didn't realize how expensive those are!!!! But at least I'll make it back without any diseases!

Now that I'm winding down on making Christmas gifts I've been pondering a theme for the wall hanging. Maybe a Texas wildflower theme as the bluebonnets start blooming in late March/ early April? Even folks in the north might appreciate a spring theme after a hard winter. I need to peruse earlier swaps to see what kinds of wall hangings have been made to get some ideas on piecing techniques as I don't applique and don't care to start.

I came up with another trick to help my quilting. Every once in a while I get a small loop on the back of my quilt. Here is my solution.
This is in the tutorial section but I wanted to share it with all my swap buddies. Hope you never have to make use of it!

I'm here Belfrybat. My guess is the holidays keeps everyone busy.
One of the neatest things that happened for me on NYE was a flock bluebirds landed in my holly tree and spent the day devouring the berries. They stayed a few days but I never got a good photo op. Fun to watch their fluttery blue bodies sprinting from one tree to another.
I have my pattern ready and choosing fabrics today.
Happy New Year to every one.

I'm in for the wall hanging, just haven't had the time yet and it is still a ways a way. Will think on this after I sew a mug rug, mini wall hanging and a POM for swaps this month. I need to make myself a table runner for the dining room and a table "mat" for my small kitchen table for Valentine's Day.
