Lynnie, thank you for the compliment. It was a learning project for me.

I've been wanting to quilt on my embroidery machine for a good while now and just recently started watching video's on how to do so. I still need to do some research though so I can get a good grasp of it.

You do not use stabilizer. The top/batting/backing are placed in your hoop. I suggest using an embroidery design that is an outline. If you have a magnetic hoop, try using it. At the time I begin the Irish Chain Quilt, I did not have a magnetic hoop. I used my regular embroidery hoop from my Husqvarna Viking Designer 1 and I used the 100mm by 100mm hoop. Had taken a class with friends at a Bernina dealer to learn to machine quilt. We used muslin for the top and backing in the class and had batting in the middle. Our class fabric had room for nine designs. Lower your feed dogs and give it a try. I wished we lived near each other and I could help you. Michigan is almost a thousand miles from you. If you have any questions, send me a PM.

I use the Husqvarna Viking embroidery program. The same embroidery program can be used on a Pfaff machine. What embroidery machine do you own?
