    I still do it periodically even though I have heard for years that it is not a good idea to put pins, screws, or nails in the mouth.

    I tend to put them in my shirt the grandkids always hated my hugs when I was sewing for some reason

    oh my sorry you had to learn the hard way and glad you shared your story because i put them in my mouth sometimes with out even thinking!!! but now i will think of you when i do that and will break the habit!!!

    Thank you for this great reminder. I'm glad everything turned out okay for you - what a scarey experience!!! Another thing to remember about pins in your mouth - the acid will break down the metal of some pins making them very rough and dull. This was a habit I found very hard to break; but I now have little pin cushions in all my sewing kits even if it is just a scrap of fabric with some batting attached so I dont' put them in my mouth.

    THANK YOU for the warning!! I WILL make myself a wrist pin cushion first thing in the morning!! I am very glad yu are ok...I would have died of fright!!
