Thank you once again for the kind comments.
For those of you that are afraid of or think your FMQ isn't good enough, believe me, this is not perfect - we ran into trouble using the long arm machine. But, I stuck to it. It took a good 6 hours to get this quilt done. Its larger than a lap quilt - can't remember the exact dimensions - but about as long but not as wide as a twin size quilt. Anyway, it took awhile and there were struggles. But, I had practiced a lot at home on my sewing machine, using gloves, and just kept telling myself to breathe, go slowly, and keep my shoulders loose. It works both at home on my sewing machine, and with the long arm, to do that.
This is my second quilt, yes, but I've done lots of projects in between and I practice everything, every time. Like my cutting, my 1/4 inch seams, and my blocking. I practice my fmq on anything I can. I love fmq and I love the long arm - hoping some day I can get my own.
But believe me, I'm a loooonnnnggg way from doing anything like some of the people here are talented enough to do. Following a pattern - not there yet. Feathering - not there yet. So I keep practicing. My loop-d-loops are my favorite and that is what I'm good at and comfortable doing.
I get to go with my friend Jinnie (who I met on this forum), who helped me with mine, on Friday to do hers. I hope that she has as much fun with it as I did (except when I sewed the leader cloth on the bottom of my quilt and it took 45 minutes for 2 of us to rip it out.....THAT part was NOT fun!). We know all the mistakes I made with mine. So hopefully, everything will go smoothly with hers and it'll look even more beautiful! :)
