Your pictures are great and I'm so happy all the ladies enjoyed their bags of fabric. I even recognized a few pieces I had the honor of sending. Such a good feeling to be part of something so warm and fuzzy!

    Thanks Janstar!!

Today one of our ladies dropped by with a very special letter...I would have scanned it for you to see yourselves..but my scanner is bust (got a new one but still not installed it yet :? )

So this letter is from Kath..it reads:-

TO ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE - THANK YOU!!

I can't believe my eyes: fabric, fabric, fabric!!

What lovely people you are and how generous of you to go to so much trouble for us. My head is spinning with so many ideas I feel positively dizzy!!

I can't wait to get started, but before I do, just one more GREAT BIG THANK YOU,

    Lotsawotsit!!

    Kath x

I agree, this is a wonderful letter and I, too, thought the room you are meeting in was really great...plenty of spreading room, good sturdy tables, looks like great lighting and lots of fun friend. What a picture!

Yes Karla and Feathers, we were VERY lucky to find this room, it is part of the local library building, and the council allow us to use it for free, which means our 'subs' can be used purely for our passion and not wasted on rent!!

The room is very large and bright but best of all its 'cool', as the weather is so hot now, we can open the windows and get a lovely breeze through, but that comes at a price if you are using paper templates and small pieces of fabric lol!!!! (Its FREEZING in the winter - no heating!! :( !! but we just wrap up, some of the earlier pictures that are on the website you can see us sewing in fleeces and bodywarmers tee hee!!)

We are hoping to hold a show in October, just hope the locals come in to join us!! :D

How lucky you are to have the use of the library. Our quilt group met in the conference room of our local library for years but as our members got older the stairs to and from the building became daunting so we moved to a retirement/assisted living home where they give us (for free)the use of their big conference room once a month for our meeting and quilting. Like your room, we have good lighting, lots of space to spread out, and the residents of the home come and visit our group and bring in some of their OLD family quilts which we love to see. We also have unlimited coffee, hot chocolate, lattes provided by the home and for $5 we can eat their daily lunch special in the dining room or they'll fix any kind of sandwhich under the sun with all the trimmings. We love our new digs!

    Izy

I was thinking the other day and in Ronda we had a fabric store. There were rolls and rolls of fabric in the basement. I can't remember though if there were cottons.

I think this means you need to take a day trip to Ronda and see the Tajo and fill in my fading memory of their fabric store. It was on the main shopping strip Calle La Boulla, and if you are walking away from the Plaza de Soccoro it is on the right side of the street on the corner.

WOW Missi, you have a good memory for names, especially foreign ones :D
We have just worked out that to drive would be about 2 hours. Thanks for the info. Any place that sells fabric is worth knowing about.
    :D :D :D
