    I have a girlfriend that made these with her brownies years ago and they are still doing just fine.. I definately say you need to use the pins to secure the material..

    I also found a site where you do not use pins but poke the material into the styrofoam with a butter knife. My daughter and I made some of these several years ago and they do not last well.

    We get together and make christmas candy. I made these and gave them as gifts at our candy making party......

    If I were the recipient of one of these I would not put it on my tree. I would get a single ornament stand/hanger and display it in a spot all its own..on the mantle the piano etc. They are beautiful!!
