It is a very old quilt pattern, first published in 1870. This interpretation is by Jennifer Beer from a book 'In the Begining' by Sharon Evans Yenter and is called Rose Trellis.
Original pattern used templates but Jennifers is entirely rotary-cut.
Pattern is based on the Snowball block with stitch-and-flip corners. The alternate block has simplified piecing so there are no set-in seams.
I couldn't find any rose fabric at the time so choose chrysanthemums. The border is plain with appliqued vine, leaves and flowers. I fussy cut the flowers.
I quilted it in the ditch and around the applique & FMQ a butterfly in each Snowball block.

Close up maybe able to see quilted butterfly

Don't have a name for the quit design one of the blocks is called Tam's Patch the pattern is from a Setember 2008 edtion of 'The Quilter'
There are 25 blocks [13 interlocking squares and 12 Tam's Patch]

OMGoodness! Those are fabulous, esp the French Braid. Please post a pic when it's finished with borders, binding & quilting. Love the bright colors of 1st & 2nd quilts, but also like the 3rd.
