    Maggie, I don't plan sashings between my blocks and my center circles will match the background. I will do an ice cream cone border of 30's prints and the background.

    I think I'd use a soft yellow with the repros I have if I were going to use a solid. My pieces range from off-white floral prints to reds. Soft yellow looks the best to me, but I didn't love it. That's why I'm skipping sashing and doing an icecream cone border.

    Hi, I recently finished an Arkansas Crossroads in thirties repro fabrics and used Kona Snow. It has a nice soft white look and not as harsh as white does. Many of my quilting friends like the Kona Snow versus Muslin. Good luck with your project.

    Kona is great fabric, just be sure to pre-wash it. Parchment would be a great color, but also, tea-dying would work too!!
