This is gorgeous! The turtle is the genesis of the world for the Six Nations people if North Eastern US and Canada. Some of my friends in a community called Khanawake near Montreal in Quebec have a wonderful quiltshop - CalicoCottage.ca if anybody wants to take a look. They have beautiful patterns for all the totem animals, turtle included.
They will love seeing this, I'm going to give them the Quilting Board address so they can see Honu, they'll love him - or her! Thanks so much for showing this, the turtle is really a wonderful ancient creature
