Oh yes, you're on a plane and admiring the way fields and forests are laid out!

You know you are a quilter when you spend thousands of dollars remodeling your kitchen and you put in a bench big enough to bast a q/s quilt on so you dont have to get down on your knees anymore , and everyone at quilt guild wants to come and bast at your house. Cathy

Woman in line ahead of me had a beautiful scarf on and I asked her if it was a batik. She said she didn't know so I felt it, turned it this way and that, and said yes, probably a silk or rayon and she said, "It could be silk". And there I am still lovingly fingering her scarf, which was still around her neck! I didn't want to stop! The woman must have thought I was nuts. But it was soooo pretty (can you tell I love batiks??). Would have gone great with my stash..

When you can stay in your sewing room for days on end without caring if your family is starving to death!

Oh my! I just did that on a recent flight!

I have to laugh when some of you post about wanting to just "touch" the fabric....when we were in NZ recently, I wasn't able to sew for over 2 weeks. Didn't find many LQS in the area I was, but did find one. Did buy a little fabric, but spent a lot of time petting it!

When you won't let children color in your coloring books because you use them as applique patterns.

You step lightly in the sewing room because those pesty pins fall to the floor. You can feel the pin before it does damage and can quickly pull it out.

You're at work and someone asks why you have those long pins in your shirt, well because I was up this morning sewing.

People don't bother to ask how you spent your weekend, because everyone already knows you spent it quilting.

That is so funny....I do the same thing. I look for patterns in everything.

I've been guilty of all of these things so far that the other board members have listed. I've got calluses on my fingertips, I always notice the patterns on tile. I can't even look at crossstitch patterns without seeing a quilt. I love Little House on the prarie and the Waltons because of all of the quilts they show. Even my DH has asked,"What pattern is that?" I have threads all over me and my carpet. And, most of the time, I'd rather stay home and quilt than to go out.
