When I was growing up in a small town we had the same mailman all through the years. He was my piano teacher's husband. He knew us and we knew him. If that is not the case, you certainly don't want to allow people to intercept packages, unless the carrier demands to see your picture id. Of course, that would make a whole lot of extra work, and it's not in the job description. With all the concerns about security these days, it's not surprising that they might be startled at being approached by someone.

When we moved to our new house here in the country, we have several run-ins with our regular UPS driver...she felt that since we have the audacity to park our cars and trailer in our circular driveway, she could just drive through our yard, making a circle around our driveway. After trying to get her to stop several times, we reported her to her supervisor...I mean what else could we do...she, in her determination to NOT stay on our driveway, was eventually going to hit one of our pets or (God forbid!!)one of our grandchildren. Needless to say, our UPS lady doesn't like us too much, but at least she does leave our packages on the covered porch...and she stays on the driveway now.

Now the USPS lady...totally different story...friendly, kind, and punctual with her deliveries....

So, yea...one lady thinks we are devil people and one lady likes us...and you know...I'm ok with that!!! :-) :-)

Loved all the stories! I live in a big city and the mail carrier for my route keeps changing and the delivery times also. frustrating but I figure God is just teaching me patience.

I live in a rural area and I have been known to sit at the bottom of the driveway waiting for our mail person.

When ever I knew I had a package comming, I would leave a note to the mail carrier if I wasn't going to be home to leave it at the post office and I would go pick it up. The mail box is right out side my door so once inna while I see the mail person putting the envelopes in the mail boxes. I have a pattern comming via Fed Ex any time now and I have been poking my head out the door looking for it. Nope ,,, nothing weird about it. Just want our packages to be delivered to us with out having to worry about them getting stolen or worse. Have a great evening. Huggies, Fay

The UPS man comes to our house so much and we have stalked him to the point that I take him fresh eggs. So he don't mind so much anymore.
