Thanks for sharing this link. I just bought a new book by Pam and Nicky Lintott called Jelly Roll Sampler Quilts...variations on many traditional sampler blocks converted to use 2.5" strips. I think this is the same method they use for a Carpenter's Star. (BTW...it's a great book with over 50 different block patterns.)

I am trying to photocopy this pattern for the carpenters star, the printed comes up but not the photo of the finished quilt top....am I doing something wrong?

This is a wonderful fast pattern, I work at a nursing home, and one of our residents had it on her bed - I admired it so much I sketched it out an went home to make it, Sooooo Fast!. Much of the beauty is in the fabric choices, good advise on watching the contrast to really make it work. :wink:

Thanks! I have always liked this pattern, but thought it would be way too hard for me to make, but these directions look really easy.

How does the wonder ruler work, I really don't want to buy another triangle ruler but when I pulled up the wonder ruler site I couldn't figure it out. Maybe you can help me.
