Both are wonderful - the fusible and the pixel quilt. I think you've really captured your grandson's expression and his smile is perhaps a little more enigmatic than the photo but that doesn't matter - it's art therefore an interpretation NOT a photocopy. Are you going to baste and quilt it, if so, how?

That's the beauty of this technique -- no design stitching is needed -- it's not really a quilt. And I think the new name Trudy has chosen is spot-on perfect - Cut Work it is!

Back to your question, I have given some thought to experimenting with this one. When I get an "improved" version done I will have this one to use for testing some different ideas. I've thought about thread painting that could add more shading dimension or possibly echo quilting to make the image pop from the background more. I won't try anything until I have another one done, though.
