LOL! There is a snall guild up in the very tip of northern NH that sewed outside one summer under the shade of some pine trees, while their church home sanctuary was being renovated.... They named themselves THE SHADY LADIES!
...and they are just the nicest group.!

I know how the name affects some. My Oldest DD is an avid crocheter. and had started a business she was using on Etsy. Many objected to the name: The Midnight Hooker.....one shop she had her stuff in would not let her use that name because of what it implied.....

My friendship group is called "Fabric Fondlers", because even if we aren't sewing, we are petting our fabric or checking out someone's stash. You might consider "Friday Fabric Fanciers" since you will be meeting in your LQS. Heck, whatever you call it, just have fun. You have lots of cute suggestions.

First of all I wanted to say that I like the name "Area 51."

As to the original name I wanted to say that I'm not offended. Who am I to judge? I do try very hard not to have these words in my head, however they are all around us. There was a time that the only time I used 'em was during labor. Now they are sneaking to my vocabulary daily. I'm going to keep trying not to use 'em. I will not judge anyone for using 'em if you won't be mad at me for trying not to be around 'em. (huggs)
