Hi Rita

The finished size of the pattern works out to 49" x71".

It is made in six sections and I found it a lot easier to start by drawing it out on squared paper to get the measurements and see how it went together, as there are only minimal instructions.

Once you've done that you get a feel for how it goes together, so it shouldn't be too difficult to alter it to the size you wanted, the blocks are all divisible by 3" so keeping that ratio you would only need to make sure the sashing fits together ok. I wasn't happy with the extra sashing strip in the lower left corner, so I altered that area. I also liked the border in the Fabric Freedom pattern so I added one in making it 1 1/2" wide.

As you say any theme fabric would work, while making mine I saw another board member had used it for butterfly prints. So often you find lovely prints that are lost if they are cut small, but this one lets you show off squares up to 9".

Hope this helps,
Barbara.
