I used a light gray aurifil thread for top and bobbin. The white material has kind of a shiny pattern on it, hard to see in the pics. I found the gray thread really complimented that and it made the quilting pop. I did not quilt in the brown triangles. I was going to switch to a verigated brown thread and do something with them, but did not like how the brown thread looked on the backing.

I completed this quilt top a few months ago. It stayed that way until last night when I bought the backing. Starting around midnight I basted the quilt. Then to the machine for quilting! All of the quilts I have done up until now have been SITD. I spent some time yesterday practicing a hooks/swirls motif and decided to use that.
