2025 UFO Challenge
#63
I’d like to jump on in here a bit late. I did some organizing and discovered 22, yes, 22, UFOs buried in the sewing room! My first finish of the 22 is a batik jelly roll race quilt from 15 to 20 years ago! The top was completed but Needed be to quilted and bound. It took 2 days on and off but that baby is done and in the wash right now. I’m praying it doesn’t bleed! lol.
Next up is a Giant Scrappy Swoon I made as a QAL on this board in 2018, I think. I needs to be sandwiched, quilted and bound. I’d like to start it this weekend.
I hope by listing these, I make myself more accountable!

The number 8 on my list was this set of really old blocks that I intended to put together for a donation quilt. It didn’t take as long as I thought it would! But then, it was quilted with the birth-a-quilt method and tied, and well, things got a bit askew, but someone will be warmed by this thing!

Yikes, I just checked my list and I missed the March challenge number! Oh, no! I am not sure I can catch up, but I will dig it out in the morning and see what my options are. It is exchange blocks from 2022 that my quilting group did. Can't even remember what they look like or how many there are.

I found my Number 8! Now I remember why it became UFO.
If the blocks had not been signed, it was a yearly exchange block project, I would give them away. Thinking of just sashing with wide black strips and crosshatch quilt it. I don't want to expend much time in making the alternate blocks in the pattern. I would prefer to put my time in on other UFOs and projects.

I’ve got my March quilt top layered and ready for quilting. But I’ve gotten stuck on what pattern to quilt it with. And then in the middle of it all de died to rearrange my studio! Do you think I’m procrastinating on getting this done? I should have the studio back together by the end of day and then I’ll be back on getting this quilt finished.

Lena, I would shout "SQUIRREL!" and carry on with the rearranging. It has a potentially good purpose too. You may be inspired by something you see as you clean up, rearrange and neaten up your sewing space. Stitch on and we will all look forward to your final photo of your finished UFO #8.

Howdy all! I'm jumping in-a little late-but hoping to be able to stick with it this year. Too many UFO's to list. 😬 Currently working on some quilted pillow covers. My mom and sister bought me some pillow forms a couple years ago as I wanted some throw pillows for my living room and wanted to make some like my grandma had. I didn't really have any fabric in my stash that would match my living room. I did come across some mini charm packs though that could work for my bedroom. So I decided to be crazy and make completely "useless" (as my daughter says-silly girl) pillows for my bed. I haven't had decorative pillows on my bed in decades-if ever?? Anyway I'd like to finally get.them. DONE! 😊 I have the 4 flimsys done, one quilted, but not the pillow back done. Working on basting this one now and hoping to quilt it this week.
Thank you for letting me join the adventure! It's been inspiring reading and looking through all your finishes!!
