This is the way I have always done my bindings. Don't know when or how I learned this, but really don't like the whip stitch. And, I can't do a whip stitch without the stitches showing! Like most of the quilters here, I surely don't want to see my stitches. This tute is very easy to understand and should help make this process so much more enjoyable.

I have used this method for years in hand sewing. I did not know it had a name. (I once made my DD a dress, pinafore, and bonnet, when she was little, all by hand. Just wanted to see if I could...)

Back just past the middle of the last century when I was forced, screaming and kicking, to take Home Economics, we were taught this stitch as the blind stitch. AND, I can remember how to do it.

I was taught the ladder stitch at a very young age. It's what we use to close up dolls. I also use it in applique and binding.

It's a great stitch and should be shared with the world! :0) Keep posting topics, OP.
