It might have been from Schnibbles Times Two by Carrie Nelson. The book features pairs of quilts from 5" (charm pack) and 10" (layer cake) squares. The layer cake patterns are quilt size, the charm pack ones are doll quilt/table topper/wall hanging size.

The only charm pack I've ever used was a set of batiks. I made a lil twister quilt with it. Love it!

I use them for purses, twisters, when making DP9's, rag quilts, lots of patterns are easily adapted to using them.
