I use Dritz and get it when Joann's has it on sale.I just bought 3. Spray the batting and then the fabric. I love the spray,I don't pin at all

The 505 Basting Spray is the best stuff as others have already posted, you want to spray your batting not the fabric. Make sure you have a window open when using this stuff-it can make you a little light headed. Also, use masking tape to secure your backing in a taunt position on the wall or floor so that you don't have to fuss with it. One can usually is good for a full size quilt with some left over. I would try how things work for you because humidity will effect usage as well.

I didn't even think about the humidity. It can get pretty icky here.

Humidity messes with our hairdos and our adhesive products as well! Good thing I'm a no nonsense kind of girl. (Seriously stay away from the sticky days with the sticky spray!)

On page 4 about 11 posts down there is a link to tutorial on basting on the wall. It is where I got the idea from.

I bought some elmer's Craft Bond which says Multi-purpose Spray Adhesive on the can and I will try it on next quilt. I think I read on this board someone used this and It was alot less expensive then 505. We will see how it works. If anyone knows it does not work, please tell me. thanks

Before using it on an entire quilt, I would try it on a test sandwich first. You want to make sure it doesn't gum up the needle, and you want to make sure it washes out. Hard to tell from Googling it whether it meets these two criteria.
