I live in Canada and our fabric is 16.95 a meter(39")and up to 20.00 m plus we pay 13% hst on top of that. So be glad you don't live here and we are a border city to the US. I have been shopping from my stash for the last 5 year after my accident it made me think if something happened to me what would happen to all my fabrics.I saw my friends fabric be given away like junk to a second hand store and some to the church for their yard sale. I'm using mine up I'm sure I won't run out for a long long time. If I do then that's good I"ll buy it as I need it. That's what I do now buy only what I need to complete a quilt no more to the stash pile.....

This makes us think about how lucky we are. Yes we have tough times, but it was way worse during the civil war!

Ouch! sure puts things in perspective. Makes me look at my stash in the basement in a whole new light.

Don't insult my intelligence when I see someone sell Moda single fat quarters for $2.25 (which is still high) and other quilt stores who sell Moda for $3.50 a fat quarter. I just came home from a warehouse sale at Herrschners, what a disappointment. Not only were there pillowcases, table cloths and dish towels, but they were all ugly. They was lots of yarn, all was over price and the colors were ugly. Then there was material, all marked on the ends of the bolts, the prices were o.k., but when you got to the cutting table, you found out the price was for 1/2 yard. They had no baby afghan kits, and when you drive a long ways, you have buy more yarn than you need, because you don`t want to run out when you know you can`t get anymore. All in all I thought it was all over priced as it was all the things they couldn`t sell.

If you are in a crunch on a budget like me, then you can't afford this high price fabric. That is why I shop on ebay. I have got some as low as $1.49 a yard. Check it out.
