to wash or not to wash

I wash after the quilt is finished....first because I love that crinkled old look, so loved and yummy and second because if there is a problem I want to know about it before I give the quilt away (and I do give them all away)

As I said before I always pre-wash. Even FQ and Jelly Rolls.
All are washed in hot water. FQ in washer (don't have a salad spinner) and Jelly Rolls in the sink (maybe I'll purchase a salad spinner). After washing all go in hot dryer. Works for me. Try both ways and do what works for you. BrendaK

I prewash every piece of fabric I buy. I don't want the excess dye coming out after the quilt is made. I also don't want to smell or touch fabric with all the chemicals and sizing and whatever else the manufactors use.

You can use the color catchers over again. If I have a full load I put a 2-3 of the catchers in.
