Your first quilt is much prettier than my first quilt!

And you have a RICCAR sewing machine!!! So do I!!!! I have never run across anybody else who has one. Mine is only 13 years old, but it's quite the workhorse. Maybe we should start a Riccar Club.... but we might be the only members. lol

Beautiful quilt!

Well, it sure did turn out beautiful. My quilting journey began last year when my grandmother passed away. My mom and her sisters were cleaning out grandma's house. My mom asked me if I wanted her Universal sewing machine that is in a cabinet. I told her I didn't think so because I didn't know how to use one and didn't know how to sew. She told me to take it anyway and that I could learn. My motherinlaw came over to show me how to thread it and fixed the tension. She gave me some scrap fabric. I sat in the floor with my laptop, fabric, tape measure....lol, and scissors. I made my first quilt block. It actually turned out great. My mom found out I was using a tape measure and scissors, so she gave me a rotary cutter, ruler and mat. I've been quilting ever since. I have never loved something so much in my life. I'm even quilting quilts for my mom now. Looking back, I have learned so much from this board, books and the internet. I'm so excited to learn even more.
