I love sunbonnet girls!! I had the honor of working up 25 bonnet babies for my former pastors wife. Her mom had appliqued them when Sister Judy was tiny. They were on muslin and had some ragged edges. No two were same size . So I squared them to get a neat edge and then sashed them in complimentary colors to bring them to uniform size then set them tog. This was maybe 6 yrs ago. I am currently remaodelling my sewing room and unearthed the 25th block from this quilt which was smaller and in need of some further repair. I finished it and made a wall hanging of it and sent it back to Sis Judy as a surprise gift in honor of her mom who passed away before I started her quilt top. I was very glad to get to work with so precious a piece of history. Y ou did some awesome work on your bonnet girls!!
